Calvin and Hobbes represent the child in all of us. For those who know and understand Bill Watterson's creative, imaginative, and not-so-far-fetched characters, a connection between the six-year-old Calvin and his "pet tiger" Hobbes is not hard to forge. After reading this beloved comic strip for years, I began to understand more and more my connection to these characters. This connection is not just rooted to my childhood, however, but to who I am now. I am not saying that I am forever holding a "class clown" attitude, but more the simplistic view of childhood. The more I keep this outlook, the easier I find it is to get through each and every hustling and bustling day.
The best example of this simple view would have to be the famous statement, "There's treasure everywhere!" Only a child could find that a few interesting rocks and a twisted root could be treasure. But what if we looked at some of the small things in our life with that same attitude?
Naiveté is Bliss.
